What is SeeClap?
SeeClap is a video player for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android and Android TV. You bring your own playlist — M3U, Xtream Codes or OneStream — and the app turns it into a browsable library, with posters, synopses and a programme guide.
Does SeeClap come with channels or films?
No, and that is a deliberate position. SeeClap ships with no catalogue, no channel list and no address of any kind. It plays what you already have the right to watch, from a source you provide yourself.
Is SeeClap legal?
Yes. SeeClap is a player, much like VLC: the app is distributed through the App Store and Google Play, provides no content, and is not affiliated with any provider. You remain responsible for the source of your playlist — SeeClap simply plays it.
Which playlists can I use?
M3U files, the Xtream Codes API and OneStream, plus your own SeeClap Server on your local network. You can keep up to four provider playlists in the app; a SeeClap Server does not take one of those slots.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android phones and tablets, and Android TV. Your playlists follow your account across all of them, and a film can be sent from your phone to the television.

Yes, for whatever you downloaded beforehand. Download an episode to the device before you leave and it plays on a plane or in a train, with no network and no server switched on.
Are there parental controls?
Yes. Access to restricted content is protected by a PIN, and the filtering applies to the whole library — films, series and live channels alike.
What is SeeClap Server?
A companion application that turns a Mac, a PC or a Linux machine into the source of your library: it files your own video files, identifies them and serves them to the SeeClap apps on your network. It is included with your account and currently in beta.
How much does it cost?
The app installs for free and lets you try playback in a demo limited to two minutes. A subscription lifts that limit and unlocks the features that follow you from one device to the next, such as resuming a film where you left it.
